My Story

Welcome to my small corner of the FHM blog. My name is Camille and I am the head henna artist at Free Hand Mehndi. Henna became a passion by accident over 10 years ago and I haven't let go since. I come from a family of artists and art has always been a permanent fixture in my life. Henna has allowed me to express myself in many areas in my life, henna has also allowed me to connect with other amazing humans.

The youtube channel came about in February of 2008. I had a friend send me some henna cones from Pakistan and I sold a few of them online. One of my customers asked me to explain how to use them, being an artist and not the best writer in the world I decided to film a video for her. Around that same time my younger sister introduced me to youtube, and I uploaded the video there. The video quality was horrible, and design was amateur at best but the videos were an instant sensation. The rest is history and here I am today, a henna guru!

I am a total culture junkie and have become obsessed with trying and experimenting with new things. This blog will be a mix of my passion for henna, my curiosity for culture, risk taking, sharing my success and failures, and my new found love for beauty and fashion.

Thank you for taking this journey with me.

Hi Camille

I stumbled upon your blog today while browsing. I am not much of a writer but passionate about mehndi designs. And have recently launched a gallery of curated designs. I think you will like it.
